Great way to express negation for the preceding noun/clause.

You're not a child!
I'm not God!
It's not like it's the end of the world or anything!

In a bit more context:

A：　おい、言葉使いに気をつけろ！子供じゃあるまいし！
B:　すいません！

A:　何で彼はそんなことすんの？
B:　知るか！知ってるわけない、神様じゃあるまいし。

A:　彼女に振られたんだ。もう、これから生きていけないな。
B:　元気出せよ。この世の終わりじゃあるまいし、可愛い子いっぱいいるんだぞ！
