This week in vocabulary!

焦る(あせる): To be impatient
おい、こんなに焦らなくていいよ。
Hey, you don't need to be in such a rush.

必然(ひつぜん): Inevitable
勉強しないと、必然的な結果は失敗ですね。
If you don't study, the inevitable result is failure.

統一(とういつ): Unify
彼は、様々な派を統一しようとしたのに、結局は失敗した。
Although he tried to unify the various factions, in the end he failed.

独り占め(ひとりじめ): Hog, monopolize
両親は私が彼女と帰国した時、「まどかを独り占めしようとするな!」って言っていた。
When I went home with my girlfriend, my parents said "Don't hog Madoka!"

神秘的(しんぴてき): Occult, mysterious
あの森林は神秘的だと言われていますよ。
That forest is said to be mysterious.

常連(じょうれん): Regular
成田に住んでいた時、バージ・インというバーで常連客だったよ。
When I lived in Narita, I was a regular at a bar called "The barge inn."

厄介(やっかい): Nuisance, trouble, annoyance
俺たちは、彼女をやっかい者と考えていた。
We thought of her as an annoyance.

継続(けいぞく):Continuation
ブシュ大統領はアメリカの大問題は何よりもテロとの戦いを継続することだと言っていた。
President Bush says that beyond anything, America's biggest problem is the continuing fight against terrorism.

もう一つ。

barge inn は「バージ・イン」でしょう。たぶん。

「バージン」は virgin になると思います。

 → アメリカの大問題[は]何よりもテロ
  との戦い[を]継続することだと
